On the
Tuesday of Maths Week, the children in Classes 1 and 2 measured ingredients
and made pancakes.
The children of Classes 3 and 4 had science challenges. Class 3 had to
stop ice cubes from melting by using insulating
materials. They used stop watches to time their observations, had to
record their results in charts and tables and they
scrutinised their data.
Class 4 were told the scary story of
'The Ice Man's Hand'. They were then given a frozen hand that they had
to insulate
using a variety of materials. The children had to design their own
methods of observing, measuring melted water accurately and recording
results. They also had to be very accurate with the timings of their
observations, even working during break to ensure accurate results!
In the afternoon we had Pancake Races!
Lots of parents came to watch and we had a lovely afternoon!
