Monday was our 'Real Life Maths' day.  The children learned about how maths is used in real life situations.

The children in Classes 1, 2 and 3 designed their own zoo, while the children of Class 4 designed their own theme
park!

During the process of designing their zoos and theme parks, the children had to calculate using money (lots of it when designing rollercoasters!), include correct units of measurement, draw accurately, find totals, use calculators effectively and draw to scale in the junior classes.  The also had to apply their understanding of perimeter and area.
