Class 1

Traditional stories and rhymes – Themes for each week based on:- Teddy, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Billy Goat’s Gruff, The Gingerbread Man, Hickory Dickory Dock, Little Red Hen, Little Riding Hood, Queen of Hearts, Twinkle Twinkle, Chocolate Bar, Each Peach Each Plum, On and Off, Treasure Hunt

 

Class 2 – Theme for the term:- Houses and Homes

Fiction and Poetry: Traditional and fairy tales included plays

Non-fiction: Recounts, dictionaries, information texts

Science: Grouping Materials / Light and dark

History: Homes Long Ago

Geography: Homes around the World

Art: Investigating Materials / Can buildings speak?  D & T: Homes

RE:   Our world / Stories about Jesus         

PHSE: Getting on and Falling out / Say no to bullying

Music: Exploring pulse and rhythm, exploring pitch

 

Class 3 - Theme for the term:-  Animal Kingdoms

Fiction and Poetry: Adventure and mystery, Shape poems and calligrams

Non-fiction: - Instructions

Science: Variation and classification / the water cycle

History: Dinosaurs

Geography: Animal Environs

Art: Investigating Pattern                              D & T: Moving Monsters

RE: Lent, Water                                

PHSE: Getting on and falling out / Say no to bullying

Music: Key to Music (K2M) + violins          MFL: Spanish

 

Class 4 - Theme for the term:- Water

Fiction and Poetry: Stories from other cultures, Older Literature. Dramatic conventions, MacBeth

Non-fiction: Persuasive writing

Year 6 – Booster classes

Year 5 -  Fiction and Poetry: Recounts, Classic narrative poems

Science: Rocks and soil / Separating Mixtures

Geography: Water / The River

Art: Containers                                                      D & T: Bread or Biscuits
