Parent Workshop
This has been cancelled as
we have only had responses from three parents. We will be responding
to their questions directly! |

School Nurse – Drop in
sessions
Our new school nurse, Eleri
Parkhurst, has volunteered to run “drop-in” sessions each half term
for about an hour. You don’t need to make an appointment – just be
prepared to wait if a parent is already with the nurse. Her first
session is on Wednesday October 7th from 8.30 – 9.30am. |

Reading
We really appreciate the volunteers who come into school
regularly to help us with reading. We have fantastic groups of
helpers most mornings! Thankyou! All our children benefit from being
heard read so regularly.
Can I remind parents who come into help us with
reading of the following:
 |
Please do not go into a classroom without a
teacher being present. |
 |
We like to have equal number of adults in
Classes 1, 2 and 3. So please spread yourselves around if there
are a lot of helpers in one class. |
 |
Please listen to the group of children that
the teacher directs you too, not just your own child. We would
like to hear as many children read as possible during reading
time. |
 |
When you are around school and in the
classrooms, please treat everything you see and hear
confidentially. If there is anything you don’t understand,
please request an appointment to discuss it. |
 |
We know it’s tempting but please don’t use
the time in school to ask the teachers or other staff questions.
Unfortunately it interrupts them and so delays the start of
lessons and therefore also interrupts the children’s learning. |

Start of the school day
May
I respectfully ask parents to stop talking when the bell goes until
all the children have gone into school. The teachers sometimes find
it difficult to make themselves heard.
From
8.40, we accept legal responsibility for unaccompanied children and
therefore can I also remind you that the duty teacher is in the
playground to supervise those children and are finding it difficult
to watch these children when parents engage them in conversations.
Collection from school
Please
can I remind you that children should be collected from school at
3.30 p.m. and after clubs at 4.30p.m.
Late collection of children does delay the start of clubs and
meetings! |
Lost School Jumpers
Please help us by making
sure your child’s property is named and that they can recognise
their own clothes! e.g. socks, PE kit, water bottles, trousers,
even pants!!.
Children do need
to take responsibility for their own school jumpers and property. It
is not best use of teaching time to spend it searching for
children’s property.
Property cannot be
classified as lost if it is named!!!. We always make sure named
jumpers get back to their owners!!
Can I also request that
you check your child’s clothes – particularly the children in
Classes 1 and 2 – to ensure they are wearing their own clothing,
especially after PE or on warmer days. (They do sometimes come home
wearing someone else’s jumper!)

Checking Sheets
A copy
of the data we hold on the school system will be with you shortly.
It contains emergency contacts, telephone numbers, addresses etc.
Can I please ask you to check it through carefully especially phone
and mobile numbers, make any amendments, sign to say you have
checked it and return to school?
If you
change your mobile number can you please let us know? We do need to
be able to contact you or a named person quickly.
Please
