On Monday we were visited by the writer, poet and songwriter, Terry Caffrey.  It was great to have him back with us!  He had the children laughing all day and he inspired some fantastic writing!  Thank you again Terry!

Perfidious Pirate Poems

My name is Long James Bronze Beard,
I am the monster of the water.
I am as scary as a cornered King Cobra.
My hair is like a yellow green greasy hay stack,
My beard is as long as a horse’s tail but pure Bronze,
My teeth are as black as a dark moonless night.
I am as big as an elephant’s flabby leg.

James

My name is Skipper Jimmy,
Monstrous serpent of the deep!
I’m as scary as a phantom of the seven seas,
My Parrot is a big as an Ox,
And I’ve robbed as much treasure as a king has got!
My hair is a black, tangled mass,
And my eyes are like the blood of a cow.

Charlie

My name is Captain McCrea
I’m the oceans deathdealer!
I’m as scary as an angry Alligator.
My hair is like a torn up rag.
I’ve got a sword that sharp like a sabre tooth’s tooth.
My clothes are like soggy seaweed
I smell like mucky grimy pigs.
My teeth are like yellow tombstones.

Ben

My name is Rotten Tooth Rachel
Warrior of rebellious waves
I’m as scary as a tiger pouncing on its prey.
My hair is like a thick blond mop.
I have nails that look like rotting wood.
My teeth are a chipped as broken tiles.
My eyes are like blue sea glass.
